Archive, restore, and delete issues
Remove work from active views, recover it, or delete it permanently.
Archiving and deleting solve different problems. Archive an issue to remove it from active work while keeping it available. Delete an issue only when it should no longer be recoverable.
Archive an issue
- Open the issue.
- Open Issue actions.
- Select Archive issue.
The archived issue disappears from the default list and board. Its title, description, properties, and other details remain available in the archive.
Restore an issue
- Open the issue from the archive.
- Open Issue actions.
- Select Restore issue.
The issue returns once to the active views with its details intact.
Permanently delete an issue
- Open Issue actions.
- Select Delete issue.
- Review the confirmation dialog.
- Select Delete issue again to confirm.
Permanent deletion is irreversible. The issue can no longer be opened or found in active or archived views. Cancel the confirmation if you are unsure.
Deleting a parent issue
Deleting a parent does not delete its descendants. Each direct child is promoted to the top level, keeping its own descendants and properties.
