Write descriptions and comments

Preserve durable context and discussion with safe structured content.

Use the description for the durable context of an issue. Use comments for the discussion and revisions that happen around it.

Write a description

Open an issue and edit its description. Empty or whitespace-only content is treated as no description.

Descriptions support:

  • paragraphs and headings;
  • bold, italic, and other emphasis;
  • ordered, unordered, and task lists;
  • blockquotes and links;
  • inline code and highlighted code blocks;
  • tables;
  • workspace-member mentions;
  • managed images with alternative text; and
  • approved YouTube, Vimeo, and Loom embeds.

After saving, the description appears in a read-only form with the same meaning and structure. Reopen the editor to revise it.

Use Markdown

The editor supports common Markdown shortcuts and supported Markdown import. Source mode can replace the current document or export it as Markdown.

Some structured content cannot make a lossless round trip through Markdown. Review any warning before replacing the current content.

Mention a member

Mentions refer to a member of the current workspace. They do not send a notification. If the person’s display name changes or they later leave, the document keeps a readable fallback label.

Add an image

  1. In the editor, open the insert menu and choose Insert media.
  2. Select a supported image.
  3. Add meaningful alternative text.
  4. Upload and confirm the image.
  5. Insert it into the description or comment, then save.

Only a confirmed upload can be saved in content. If the upload fails or expires, retry it before inserting. Images without alternative text cannot be submitted.

Saved managed images are available to members of the workspace, not anonymous visitors or members of another workspace.

Add a comment

Use Add a comment at the bottom of the issue, write the content, and select Comment. The comment shows its author and creation time to workspace members.

Edit or delete a comment

Open Comment actions on one of your own comments to select Edit or Delete. Only the author can perform these actions. Other workspace members can read the comment but cannot revise or remove it.

Deleting the final comment returns the issue to its no-comments state.

Content safety

Quadratique rejects unsupported structures, unsafe URLs, arbitrary iframe markup, unresolved assets, and references outside the workspace. When a save is rejected, the last valid saved version remains readable.
